Fall is a great time of year and there are so many things to look forward to. Hoodies, boots, football, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, beautiful leaves, and of course Halloween! The owls with the Wise Advantage Group have compiled the 7 best Fall activities near Flower Mound, TX for 2018. Some of these run all October long and some are date specific. So get out your calendars to mark the dates you want to attend.
Info: It takes a lot of hard work for Jan Balekian and her crew to put this together and keep it running year after year but we are so glad she does. People come from all over the DFW metroplex and for good reason. It’s a great place for photo opportunities with kids as there are character cutouts everywhere. Mazes, hayrides, bounce houses, food and of course pumpkins for purchase. There is a fee for parking which is $5 for weekdays and $10 for weekends but the activities are free. Be sure to bring money for food and pumpkins though.

Info: Enjoy an old fashioned fall celebration right in the middle of the DFW metroplex. Hayrides, pumpkins, snacks, and a petting zoo make for a great day of fun for families. In addition to those activities, there’s a large corn maze that will for sure entertain kids and adults of all ages. Parking is free but the activities cost and they only accept cash.

Info: If the Dallas Arboretum isn’t gorgeous enough year-round, Autumn at the Arboretum takes the beautiful gardens to a whole different level. Fodor’s Travel named it one of America’s best pumpkin festivals and for good reason. This fall festival is a spectacular show of over 150,000 fall plants in addition to 4,500 fall’s favorite flower- Chrysanthemums. In the center is the internationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village featuring more than 90,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds with a different theme each year. This year’s theme takes you to Neverland as you journey through “The Adventures of Neverland.” There are so many other activities throughout the fall season at the Arboretum in addition to live music every weekend, be sure to check out their website for a list of all the activities. You won’t want to miss this amazing festival and you definitely won’t want to forget your camera!

Info: What’s better than enjoying 80+ breweries in one place? How about when 100% of the proceeds goes to charity! This 5th Annual brewfest will have over 80 different breweries, wineries, and distilleries for you to enjoy. In addition to the drinks, there will also be food trucks, shopping vendors and live music. Each ticket gets you a souvenir cup and 12- 2 oz samples. 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales goes to Cloud 9 Charities. Cloud 9 Charities is operated by unpaid volunteers and board members. All of the proceeds from their community events fund various charitable organizations, which require assistance beyond what the state mandates.

Info: Not exactly Halloween related but this is a great event for kids. The 21st Annual Butterfly Flutterby presented by the Grapevine Botanical Gardens starts the day with a butterfly parade. Parade registrations begins at 8:45 and families and pets are welcome and encouraged to dress up as butterflies. This event is free and live butterfly releases will occur at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens at 10:55 a.m., 11:55 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. A grand butterfly release will take place at 1:30 at Nash Farm during the Fall Round-Up

Info: Does your child love swimming and has been missing it since summer ended? Well this Halloween activity doesn’t require a costume but instead requires a bathing suit. Dive for the perfect pumpkin and then once found, kids can take it to the party room to decorate. Ages 3-14 only and you must register online. Registration is $5 for CAC members and $6 for non-members

Info: Enjoy safe trick-or-treating by receiving free treats from retailers across the property for children 12 and under in costume. This family-friendly event also includes tractor hayrides around the shops, carnival games, bounce houses, and a balloon artist. Keep an eye out for Halloween stilt walkers as you collect your treats!
